New MOO Cards...

...I thought as i'm up in London on monday for the Macmillan Prize ceremony/opening of the exhibition, that I should get some more business cards printed with the designs from the book on them - as recommended by MOO - so that when you give one to people they will remember who you are as your work is there with your details to remind them. Pretty clever really.

Now, the annoying thing is that I must have not left enough of a bleed on the measurements because alot of them have this greyish line at the top.

Reaaaaaally frustrating, but I don't have time to send them back and get new ones before monday. C'est la vie - they still look pretty sweet.

Bubbaloo Photography

So, once again, I am branding another company! Hey, it's a good thing!!! I'm really loving this designing and drawing, scanning, illustrator-ing and then seeing people HAPPY! It's such a good feeling. So next up are two lovely people, Gary and Hermione Oakley, who are setting up their bump, baby and family photography business, and they've asked me to do the logo, business cards, blog title art and i think web design too. Once i've approved the design with them i'll be posting some work here, so look out for it. Meanwhile, scuttle over to their blog and check out some of their work, it's goooooood. C x

Buy a Cake Business Cards

Those wonderful people at Moo.com have done it again. Delivered beautifully printed products! The buy a Cake business cards arrived with me this morning (so i could check they were ok before sending them on to my client) and they look AMAZING! i'm so pleased with them. In fact, i loved the designs so much i have had some postcards printed with the designs on too. i have sent some of these over to Ruth at Buy a Cake too, and they'll work as promotions for her and me, or just as pretty decorations for the house!!!

These are the postcard version of the designs. There is a little business card at the bottom right to show the size.

Buy a Cake

I am very honoured to have many talented friends.

One particular friend, Ruth, has many skills in making cakes of all kinds, and is cleverly deciding to set up a business providing such services. She asked me to design her business cards to which i jumped at the chance: it was for one of my lovely friends, and it involved cakes.

BINGO!

So today i have come up with ten designs (there is a variation on one of them here too) and a contact side for her, and she LOVES them! YAY! Always my goal when i take on a job. So, i'm a happy bunny.

Moo.com

I came across moo.com last year when i wanted to print some postcards for a module i was doing. It very quickly turned into a love affair as i came across all of the things you can do with them. They are quick, the products are gorgeous and they are very resonably priced. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a professional finish or just something a bit fun.

As i'm about to embark on the third and final year of my degree (eek!), i have been using my business head and have started to think to the future, what i want to be doing etc. I love creating, making cards and drawing. So, i have started to design business cards, which from moo you can get 10 free ones to see how they look. i managed to get two packs, one in each finish. I really can't decide which i prefer though. They are slightly different in colour intensity and tactility, both have pros and cons. It's just a decision i have to make! But once i do, i'll sort out which designs i want and get a proper bunch ready.

An example of the two different finishes. The left one is slightly glossy and more rigid, and the right is a paper feel, slightly more flexible, matt finish. the colours are more intense in these ones.

As well as networking with the cards, i want to put one in each order that i eventually send out when i sort out my greetings cards and other stuff i'm doing. I'm hoping to get a spot on notonthehighstreet.com, they sell some really gorgeous stuff.
I'm currently designing cards and intend to use moo again for printing services. I also got some stickers from moo, which i intend to use on envelopes when i post products out to people. I want to brand myself really well so people will use me again, and i love the little touches so i hope other people will love them on my stuff too.

.BLEND cafe lounge

artCLUB were employed to brand a new cafe opening in Thornbury, and my design was chosen out of our ideas. So for the last year i have been working on this cafe and this weekend it finally opens. Sadly, i'm away in Manchester for the grand opening, but am sure i will be frequenting it often... Below are some photos of the branding i created (also did stationary etc) and the canvas that they commission us to do, which is an artCLUB remix piece (meaning we all contributed!!!).

Not quite fixed to the wall yet but you get the idea. I'll put some pics up of the finished caf when it's all spick and span. I also did the chalkboards for them, and will be writing up the menu when it's ready!
