Thought i'd drop in and give a little update on my work.
So i have fully started back in my final year of uni now, and boy! has it started! already i have about 7 or 8 things on the go... So much work to do makes my brain a little worse for wear but i suppose it's good to learn to juggle it all.
One thing i'm committing to learn about this year is type, specifically hand drawn type, and have bought myself a little stack of books to aid this learning process. I also have invested in a couple of other books, one about David Carson's use of type and another book of quotations which we are using for our 3 week project...
So, we have this 3 week project, and the brief is either; to use a humorous quotation from the book above 'The Funniest Thing You Never Said', and produce an editorial piece; OR to produce a map using your own personal ideas. eg a map of your house or your emotions etc... using Katherine Harmon's book 'You Are Here' as a starting off point. I wanted to do both, so at this point i have combined my quote "I used to live in a house that ran on static electricity. If you wanted to cook, you had to pull off a sweater real quick." - Steven Wright, with a map... I have some other ideas i want to explore but for now, this is what i got...
and finally....
Andy (my lovely hubbaroo) is finally getting his wish this week as we take his Jaws t shirt into the print room. Here are a few pics to give an idea of what it'll look like when we're done. Think the text will be red, and the shark black and grey. Can't wait!!
