Fly pages

Here i have a design for the fly pages of the book I am doing for the Macmillan Prize. It's the Owl and the Pussycat but reworked to tell more of a story about their adventures while they were at sea. The fly pages (for those who don't know) are the ones that get stuck to the front and back interior of the book cover, and hold the book block in place.

Here is the first idea in colour bur i'm not sure if it is too out of sorts with the rest of the feel of the pages.


So I tried it in a more sepia colour and that seems to work a little better with my colour concerns - but we'll see. I may not even use this design for the pages...
