Freddie and the Fairy

I have decided to enter a competition run by macmillan and waterstones for an unpublished illustrator to illustrate Julia Donaldson's new book. She wrote books such as the Gruffalo... Up till now she's primarily worked with illustrator Axel Scheffler, so i guess they're looking for a change of pace for the new book. the first deadline is may 18th, and they want to see a full colour spread, the three main characters in full colour and at least two animals in full colour (the story is about a boy who wants a pet and wishes for all these animals...) I'm so excited, and although i know my chances of winning are slim, it's great to work to a deadline and get experience doing this... and if i win, bonus thank you.

Yummy

Cages

For my last module of this year i am focusing on animals at the vets overnight, and what might go on when the humans leave. I have alot of ways i could materialise this idea, so am exploring a few ways in which to do so... today i've been making a cage from my drawings. it still needs work to be good but this was my first attempt. i imagine i'll put animals in them when they're done though...(not real ones, they wouldn't fit...)
