.BLEND cafe lounge

artCLUB were employed to brand a new cafe opening in Thornbury, and my design was chosen out of our ideas. So for the last year i have been working on this cafe and this weekend it finally opens. Sadly, i'm away in Manchester for the grand opening, but am sure i will be frequenting it often... Below are some photos of the branding i created (also did stationary etc) and the canvas that they commission us to do, which is an artCLUB remix piece (meaning we all contributed!!!).










Not quite fixed to the wall yet but you get the idea. I'll put some pics up of the finished caf when it's all spick and span. I also did the chalkboards for them, and will be writing up the menu when it's ready!

Culture module

Alongside the other word and image module i have been blogging here, we also have a module called process and practice. The subject for which is 'Culture', a very wide and exciting theme! So, i started off with the obvious ideas of yoghurts and gardens, but after a day trip to Bath with one of my good friends, i decided i'd like to look at the culture of bathing. And more specifically, the idea of memories/souvenirs of that. I'm currently researching into different things to bathe in, Cleopatra, Glass bottles and all sorts. Some of my work so far is pictured below.

These are my two final outcomes (give or take a few elements). Have to say i'm pretty happy with the way they've turned out, and got alot of positive feedback from the class and tutors, which is great! Onto the next project not, the abstract book, needing to work non figuratively, which is a challenge for me because i find myself working quite literal. So we'll see what happens!!

Worskshop work
